<p>Orthopaedic or post-operative footgear (10) is provided with a removable toe piece (24). The toe piece (24) is secured to the sole (12) of the footgear (10) to protect the toes of a user against cold, dampness, dirt and possible impact, and it is removed from the sole (12) to allow for visual inspection of the user's toes. The toe piece (24) can include an arcuate upper section (38a) and a substantially planar lower section (38b), which can be secured to the sole (12) by hook and loop material (50, 52). The upper (14) of one embodiment of the footgear (10) is open at the toe and has overlapping flaps (16, 18) extending from opposite sides of the sole (12).</p> |
