MOULDED BODIES OF HUMUS-CONTAINING PLANT SUBSTRATE HARDENED WITH POLYURETHANE/POLYUREA, A PROCESS FOR THEIR PRODUCTION AND THEIR USE IN PLANT BREEDING

The invention concerns moulded bodies of humus-containing plant substrate hardened with polyurethane/polyurea. The moulded bodies are obtained by suspending humus-containing plant substrate in water, admixing a liquid NCO prepolymer with an NCO content of at most 15 wt.%, prepared by reacting toluylene diisocyanate with a polyetherpolyol component, containing between 0.5 and 100 mol % of at least one aminopolyetherpolyol relative to the polyol component, introducing the resultant mixture into a mould and leaving it to harden. The invention further concerns a process for producing these moulded bodies and their use as growth media for seedlings in plant cultivation and breeding.
