Monitoring cyclical working machine for early detection of machine alterations

The method uses a monitoring sensor for determining machine specific measuring signals, which are processed in an evaluation unit using a reference. A reference, SR(k), AR(k), documenting the output behaviour of the machine (10) is determined from a series of measurement signals and is stored. The method differentiates between an output mode (A) and a monitoring mode (U), in which the time signals delivered from the sensor (11) are processed according to the same criteria (I to III). In the output mode, the reference documenting the output behaviour in the machine is determined, which in the monitoring mode, is compared with the actual machine behaviour.
