PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly send multimedia information by an electronic mail capable of handling only texts by performing compression, text making and division, etc., beforehand, preserving the multimedia information in the data base of a text form and transmitting it by the means of the electronic mail or the like as text data. SOLUTION: In the case of using a hardware on a transmission side, multimedia data 1 are fetched to an input/output means 2, the fetched data are compressed by a data compression/expansion means 3 and the compressed data are converted to the text data by binary/text conversion 4. The converted data are divided and turned to the data of an appropriate size by a division/ connection means 5 and the divided data are preserved in the data base 7 capable of handling only the text data through a data base I/O 6. At the time of transmission, the preserved data are segmented in the size suitable for the electronic mail of the text form and transmitted. |
