Wrapping of heat-shrinkable plastics film comprises a horizontal top portion arranged upon the contents to be wrapped, and a mantle surrounding the vertical sides of the contents. An additional piece of film for protecting the contents from outside agents is fastened at the top of the wrapping. Used for wrapping and protecting light- (esp. U.V.-) and dampness sensitive goods stored in the open air. Instead of using expensive U.V.-resistant film for the whole package it is sufficient that only the additional piece of film on top of the package is made of this relatively expensive material whilst the rest of the wrapping can be of cheaper standard e.g. polyethylene, film.
