A controlled by-pass reactor is proposed in which the control coil is divided into several sections of 10 % power increments or into several identical sections. Various configurations of the primary coil and control coil sections are proposed. The most significant aspect of the realisation of the invention is the fact that the coil sections are such that the shorting voltage between them is 100 % to 400 % of the rated voltage. To reduce higher harmonics in the current curve in a section commuted by thyristors, a counter electromotive force is induced in short-circuited sections of preceding steps, the summed power of which exceeds the power of the commuted section for partial thyristor aperture angles. As a result, the content of higher harmonics in the magnetic flux is limited to any desired level.
|
