Catalytic burner for converting mixture of fuel gas and air into reaction ducts

The fuel gas and air mixture is converted without producing flames on catalytically coated surfaces in a number of reaction ducts (3). The catalytic coating varies over the length of the reaction ducts according to the degree of conversion to be expected in the separate zones (I-VIII). External protuberances (5) discharge heat to a heat-absorbent medium. The burner is made up of corrugated metal sheets (2,1) fitted together and catalytically coated over a varying length.
