<p>A compact disc manufacturing machine carries out a plurality of manufacturing stages in a full manufacturing process. A central manipulator (X) has a plurality of radially and outwardly extending manipulators arms (A, B, C, ... E) and performs reciprocating rotary movements in a first plane and lifting and lowering movements in a second plane in accordance with a predetermined program that controls the manufacturing process. The manipulator arms (A, B, C, ... E) move the discs successively from position (e.g. 4) to position (5) into program-determined working locations necessary for carrying out successively the manufacturing stages included in the manufacturing process. One (A) of the manipulator arms carries an upper, detachable part (21) of a vacuum sluice (21-22-23) and, subsequent to being lowered, deposits this part (21) onto an intermediate part (22) of the vacuum sluice, this intermediate part forming an integral, fixed part of a chamber lid (250) of a vacuum chamber (25). The vacuum chamber accommodates a multi-arm inner manipulator (20) which accommodates in one of its arms a lower part (23) of the vacuum sluice (21-22-23) and which is adapted for carrying out a vacuum-requiring manufacturing stage of the complete manufacturing process.</p> |
