The multi-step remote operating pushbutton or key unit held in the hand, designed so that if the grip is loosened, the working cylinder operating a plunger, press or similar is stopped. The motor driven hydraulic pump supplies hydraulic fluid to a single acting hydraulic cylinder. Two possible switching positions from the rest condition can be selected. The possible switching of the pushbutton unit are as follows: the switching from the rest condition to a working position. The connected hydraulic pump is directly or indirectly controlled, across a connected electric or electronic control, such that the connected tool is set in motion, in the direction "for executing conversion work". This is maintained, as long as the operator, holds the button pressed in this position, and the tool has not yet reached its end position.
