Registering and cashing system, e.g. for self-service check-out points

The system has a number of decentralised registering desks (1). Each desk is provided with a chip-card device (11) and a fixed-point marking-reader (12) as well as cash-out terminal (2). Each registering desk is operated by the customer inserting a chip-card (5) into the chip-card device. The customer's goods are then read by the marking-reader (12) and registered on the chip card (5). Finally, the chip is read and the bill made out.
