Burning detection method state of disk for grinding disks

The method uses a grinding machine having a grinding disk, a drive machine and a work piece, and uses a measurement of the dielectric function in the high frequency range. The change in the dielectric function is measured by varying the capacitance of an electric oscillation loop followed by demodulation and smoothing. The resulting value is fed to a data processor which provides a determination of a phase conversion of the work piece material, e.g. burning due to grinding, or of a measurement of deterioration of the grinding disk with metallic friction.
