<p>The invention relates to a fuel injection system for an engine with an internal combustion process, comprising recording means for recording a pressure occurring in a combustion chamber of the engine, injection means for injecting fuel into the air used for a combustion process in a combustion chamber of the engine, and control means for controlling the quantity of fuel to be injected depending on a pressure occurring in a combustion chamber of the engine which has been recorded by the recording means. According to the invention, the recording means are designed for recording the maximum combustion pressure occurring during a combustion process, and the control means are designed for controlling the quantity of fuel to be injected for a combustion process essentially depending on the maximum combustion pressure occurring which has been recorded by the recording means during one or more preceding combustion processes.</p> |
