The invention relates to an electric plug connection (1) wit h a plug holder (7) and a pin (3), especially a round-section pin (3), in which the plug holder (7) has a holding compartment whic h is an axially compressible coil spring (2) having individual tu rns (5, 6) with the turns (5) largely having the same main diamet er (dh). In order to reduce wear to the minimum even with frequen t plug-in cycles and also not to increase the plugging force exce ssively, the invention proposes that the main diameter (dh) be la rger than the outside diameter (d) of the pin (3) and that one or a few of the contact windings (6) have a smaller contact diamete r than the main diameter (dh) and than the outside diameter (d) o f the pin (3).
