PURPOSE:To simplify the operation of an image forming device and to smooth its action by setting an action mode to a desired one by a mode setting means based on signals from a rotary encoder and in response to the rotating direction and angle of said rotary encoder installed so as to rotate and operate in two directions. CONSTITUTION:A copying machine system is composed of a copying machine 100, an automatic original feeder 200 arranged in the upper part of the machine 100, a sheet stacker 300 placed on the left part and a sorter 400 placed on the light part. A currently set action mode is displayed on the display part 31 of the console panel of the copying machine 100, and action modes are selected through select keys 36a-36e. The rotary encoder 35 is installed so as to rotate in two directions, and signals are generated depending upon its rotating direction and angle. The signals from the encoder 35 are supplied to a microprocessor that controls the input and output of the panel and sets action modes. Based on the inputted signals, the processor sets its desired action mode. |
