PURPOSE:To make the analysis and composition of a melody reversible by providing a knowledge base means for classifying nonchord sounds included in the melody, and allowing a nonchord classifying means and a nonchord adding means to use the knowledge base means and classify and add nonchord sounds. CONSTITUTION:The nonchord sound classifying means which classifies nonchord sounds in analyzing the melody and the nonchord sound adding means which adds nonchord sounds to broken chords in composing the melody operate according to the same musical knowledge stored in the knowledge base means. Consequently, the process of analyzing the melody and the process of composing the melody from the analytic result are reversible and consistency is obtained between an input melody and the melody which is generated automatically. |
