A gain compensation method of color burst signals of television and apparatus thereof are provided to prevent a color noise component. The gain compensation method comprises the steps of: dividing a horizontal SYN(synchronizing signal)(S2); detecting a rising edge of SYN(S3); delaying the edge detecting time to a color burst time(S4); regenerating a pulse width for outputting a square wave(S5); outputting a gain control signal of the color burst signal(S6); and amplifying the synthetic video signal(CVin) removed a speech component(S7). Thereby, it is possible to remove the color noise components.
