A process for producing a steam proof glass comprises the steps of: coating and drying one or more kinds of coating resins onto a glass or a transparent plastic resin; coating one or more kinds of hydrophilic resins which are water soluble polymers or having hydrophilic radicals such as -OH, -CONH2, -COOH, -NH2 and -COO onto said glass or plastic resin. Epoxy resin, ethylene vinyl acetate resin, acryl resin, unsaturated polyester resin, polyester resin, melamine resin, urea resin, and phenol resin are used as the first coating resins.
