The present invention is to provide a method for improving macro functions. The method for improving the macro functions of a remote controller having a power control key which switches on/off power of a device, comprises the steps of: generating a first code turning on the device for a first input of said power control key; and generating a second code turning off the device for a second input of said power control key. Thereby, error of operating AV system can be removed.
