<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an edge drop small and reduce plate thickness deviation by using a work roll given a tapered crown for cold rolling, and predicting plate width and an edge drop at each stand from in-side plate thickness information and shifting the work roll. SOLUTION: A work roll 2 which is a tapered shape is arranged at each stand of a cold continuous rolling mill. A plate thickness profile meter 5a is installed on the in side of a rolling machine array, plate width right nearby the roll bite of each stand is predicted according to its information, and the edge drop on the out side of the 1st stand is predicted by using a measured plate profile and predicted plate width. Then the edge drop of each stand out side of the 2nd and succeeding stands is predicted by using the predicted edge drop on the out side of the precedent-stage stand and the plate width right nearby the roll bite predicted as to the corresponding stand. On the basis of those predictions, the work rolls of the respective stands are shifted to obtain a target plate profile on the out side of the final stand.</p> |
