PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat treatment roll causing no heat buckle even if projected tapering is omitted. SOLUTION: This roll is a heat treatment roll 1 excellent in hot shape retentivity, prepared by applying a sprayed coating of oxidic ceramics, excellent in wear resistance, build-up resistance, and heat-insulating property, to the surface layer part to 20-500μm thickness that it is thicker in the central part of the roll. Moreover, the surface layer part has a cermet or ceramic sprayed coating 3 combining high temp. wear resistance with build-up resistance and also has a thermal sprayed oxidic ceramics layer 2, formed in a manner to be thicker in the central part of the roll and excellent in heat-insulating property, inside the sprayed coating layer 3 of 20-500μm thickness. |
