PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide both an oil defense function and a dust cover function for an oil seal, and reduce the cost by arranging an extendedly arranged part extendedly arranged in a cylindrical shape outside in the shaft direction in a retainer in a device where the oil seal is installed in a casing by the retainer. SOLUTION: In an oil seal device of a shaft device adopted in a transfer device, between the inner periphery of a casing 1 and the outer periphery of an installing cylinder 3, an oil seal 4 to seal these mutual parts is installed in the casing l by a retainer 6. This oil seal 4 is composed of a sealing member 5 by an O ring 7 and a metallic or synthetic resin retainer 6 having an inner peripheral part of the casing 1 and a locking projection shape 6A to be fitted to, inserted into and locked on the shaft end. The locking projection shape 6A of this retainer 6 is further extendedly arranged in a cylindrical shape outside in the shaft direction, and is formed as an extendedly arranged part 6B, and this extendedly arranged part 6B is arranged in close vicinity to it so as to cover the outer periphery of a companion flange 3B arranged on an installing shaft 3. |
