THERMAL TRANSFER RECORDING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record a large color image using a line thermal head by scanning on an image receiving body a plurality of times using a head and forming a transfer receiving layer and then scanning on the transfer receiving layer a plurality of times using the head thereby transferring a dye from a dye layer to the transfer receiving layer before recording an image. SOLUTION: An image receiving body 9 is scanned a plurality of times using a serial head 2 and a transfer receiving layer of the required size is formed thereon. The transfer receiving layer is then scanned a plurality of times using the serial head 2 thus transferring a dye from a dye layer to the transfer receiving layer on the image receiving body 9 before recording an image thereon. According to the method, a large full-color image can be recorded on the image receiving body 9 exhibiting no dyeing properties without requiring a line thermal head.
