PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and efficiently produce antibacterial ceramic powder by mixing and kneading stock consisting of silicon carbide or silicon oxide, aluminum oxide, manganese oxide, zinc oxide, titanium oxide and silver or copper in a required ratio with a required particle size distribution, and forming particles uniform in particle diameter and firing them. SOLUTION: Silicon carbide or silicon oxide of <=0.3μm particle diameter, aluminum oxide and silver or copper are kneaded in a required ratio to form a principal compounding ingredient 1. Manganese oxide, zinc oxide and titanium oxide are separately dried at 80-120 deg.C and screened through a filter of >=150 mesh and they are kneaded in a required ratio to form a subsidiary compounding ingredient 2. The ingredients 1, 2 are kneaded in a required ratio, dried and screened through a filter of >=150 mesh and the resultant particles uniform in particle diameter are fired at 250-350 deg.C to produce the objective antibacterial ceramic powder 3. |
