PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a light-resistance improver that contains benzotriazole or tetracarboxylic acid-based compound(s) as active ingredient(s) and which imparts excellent and substainable light-resistance to natural amide- or cellulose- based fibers. SOLUTION: This light-resistance improver is prepared as an aqueous solution or dispersion which contains as active ingredient(s) 0.01-30wt.%, preferably 0.1-10wt.%, of at least one kind of compound selected from among 2-(2- hydroxyphenyl) benzotriazole-based compounds (water-soluble salts) of formula I (X is H or a halogen ; R<1> and R<2> are each H or a 1-6C alkyl or alkoxyl; (1) is an integer of 1 or 2) and tetracarboxylic acid derivatives of formula II (R<3> is H, an alkali metal or 1-20C alkyl or alkoxy, etc.). Natural amide fiber such as wool, cellulose-based fibers or a textile product thereof is immersed in a bath of this light-resistance improver at 40-80 deg.C for 20-40min to carry out a light resistance improving treatment. |
