PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically remove the burr or waste refuse generated on the edge of a doctor blade by providing a grinding means for the edge of the doctor blade to the outer periphery of a plate cylinder and providing a means making the contact angle of the doctor blade to the plate cylinder variable. SOLUTION: When a doctor blade 14 reaches the recessed groove 25 of a plate cylinder 11, a doctor blade holder 21 is rotated and the doctor blade 14 falls in the recessed groove 25 and the contact angle of the doctor blade 14 to the plate cylinder 11 is changed to a large angleθ2 . The tip 14aa of the edge 14a of the doctor blade 14 comes into contact with a grinding material and automatically ground to be set to an angleθ12 . By this constitution, the burr or waste refuse generated on the edge of the doctor blade can be automatically removed.
