PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain stabilized calcium which is stably present in its solution form and causes no precipitation, even when its pH and temperature are varied by adding water to a water-insoluble calcium followed by specific treatment. SOLUTION: Water is added to a water-insoluble calcium such as fired bovine bone meal, then hydrochloric acid is added to adjust the pH to <=5.0 to prepare an aqueous calcium solution. To this aqueous solution, is admixed a separately prepared enzymatically hydrolyzed gelatin of 0.1-40wt.%, for example, prepared by treating an acid-treated gelatin or alkali-treated gelatin with a protease. In a preferred embodiment, the aqueous calcium solution treated with the enzymatically hydrolyzed gelatin is adjusted in its pH to the neutral side. The hydrolyzed gelatin to be used here has preferably a weight average molecular weight of 1,000-30,000. |
