PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a foam stabilizer for a vinyl chloride resin foam, having low viscosity and easy to handle without using an aromatic hydrocarbon having a possibility of adversely affecting the health and the environment by dissolving a specified polymer in a specified solvent. SOLUTION: This foam stabilizer is obtained by dissolving 100 pts.wt. homopolymer or copolymer made from 10-100wt.% alkyl methacrylate and 90-0wt.% other monomer having reactive double bonds, or mixture of those polymers in 50-1,000 pts.wt. solvent mixture comprising 10-90wt.% aliphatic or alicyclic hydrocarbon having a boiling point of 100 deg.C or higher and 90-10wt.% ester compound represented by formula I or II (wherein R1 is H or COO-R7 ; R2 is H or COO-R8 ; R3 to R8 are each a 1-18C alkyl; and A is a 1-18C alkylene). The foam stabilizer is used in such a manner that the amount of the (co)polymer component is preferably 0.01-10 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. vinyl chloride resin. |
