A needle block for moving fine sheets like sheets of veneer, which comprise a casing (1) with at least one movable beam at the bottom equipped with needles, where the needles (7) are principally shaped by a rod-shaped basic section (10) and a point-shaped section (11) where the axis of each of these needles forms an angle (alpha) with the base surface (9) of the beam (3,4) of between 10 and 40 degrees while the top angle (beta) of the point shaped section of the needles (7) is smaller than the angle (alpha) but not bigger than around 18 degrees. The width (b) of the base surface of the point-shaped section (11) is preferably smaller than the width (d) of the rod-shaped base section (10).<IMAGE> |
