PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printer capable of easily controlling a wiping device and the like by utilizing a kicker member that rotates by virtue of the collision to a carriage. SOLUTION: First and second kicker members 31, 32 which are provided in connection with a movement passage of a carriage 4 are alternatively projected to the movement passage of the carriage 4. When the carriage 4 kicks the first kicker member 31, a wiper member 7a is allowed to move to a projection position and when the carriage 4 moves toward the second kicker member 32, the wiper member 7a is allowed to wipe a nozzle face of a print head 2. When it kicks the second kicker member 32, the wiper member 7a is allowed to move to a standby position. |
