PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the polyester mixed fiber yarn as a new silky material, having soft surface touch, stiffness feeling and light weight feeling in addition to the characteristics of conventional silky materials by arranging a fine denier yarn as the low shrinkage component of a polyester mixed fiber yarn with different shrinkages, and a thick hollow fiber yarn as the high shrinkage component. SOLUTION: This polyester mixed fiber yarn with different shrinkages is obtained by a method of a composite spinning of two polyester components and stretching with a heat treating the non-stretching mixed fiber yarn 14 consisting of groups of filaments 10, 11 of each of the components through heating-type godet rolls 15, 17, etc. The low heat shrinkage component is substantially a PET having <=1.5d monofilament fineness, and the high heat shrinkage component is a hollow fiber of a copolymerized PET ([η] >=0.65) having >=200 deg.C start melting temperature and 3-5d monofilament fineness, the difference in shrinkages in boiling water between the two components is 10-25%, and the shrinkage of the mixed fiber yarn in boiling water and an extreme value in the stress of a heat shrinkage are 18-30% and >=0.28g/d, respectively.
