PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming glitter coating film to provide deep and strikingly shining impression and, at the same time, excellent coating appearance and a coated article. SOLUTION: A process to form a glitter coating film by applying a glitter coating material containing 100 pts.wt. of a solid matter of a film-formable resin and 0.05-15 pts.wt. of a flaky pigment-bearing metal oxide coating material of at most 5% of particles of particle size 16μm in cumulative distribution, and hot less than 95% particles having particle size of at most 100μm and a process to form a clear coating film by applying a clear coating material to the glitter coating film face are successively carried out.
