<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent environmental pollution, to reduce the amt. of covering soil and to obviate the clogging of the seepage water collecting and discharging equipment, etc. SOLUTION: A semipermeable layer 4 is formed on the ground 1 on the inner face of a dumping pit 2. The semipermeable layer 4 is formed by drying or coagulating an aq. soln. of the completely saponified PVA. The layer 4 transpires steam but is impermeable to water such as rainwater, gas, ions, salts and org. solvents, and the seepage of harmful matter to the outside is prevented. Even if the layer 4 is broken by any chance, only a small amt. of water is leaked from the broken part, and the amt. of harmful matter eluted to the outside is controlled. Similar semipermeable layers 17 and 18 can be formed on the covering soils 11 and 12, and hence the amts. of the covering soils 11 and 12 are decreased. The ground 1 and covering soils 11 and 12 are stabilized by the semipermeable layers 4, 17 and 18.</p> |
