摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for activating the fresh hydrogenation catalyst which consists of palladium deposited on carbon and is further and particularly used for the corresponding 1,3-diakoxypropane by hydrogenating trialkoxypropane and/or for regenerating the used hydrogenation catalyst. SOLUTION: This method is a method for activating or regenerating the hydrogenation catalyst consisting of the palladium deposited on the carbon for the purpose of hydrogenating and decomposing the trialkoxypropane expressed by the formula RO.CH2 .CH2 .CH(OR)2 (where, R denotes an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms). The method comprises activating or regenerating the hydrogenation catalyst by treating the catalyst in a medium consisting of an acid having a pKa value of <6, then washing the catalyst treated with water until the pH value in the case one part dry catalyst is suspended in 40 parts deionized water attains a value larger than 2.</p>
