PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving sidewalk with no gaps and no height difference in the tread surface thereof, composed of a belt having one end guided by an outer guide rail, and the other end guided by an inner guide rail, and a bracket having bend rollers, and sprockets for driving the belt. SOLUTION: A unit A is composed of a belt 1, a bracket 2, a coupling shaft 3, and bend rollers 22, 23, 24, and a unit B is provided in the rear of the former as viewed in the advancing direction thereof. When the unit A is moved at a speed V in a direction X, the belt 1 is slid at a relative speed given by Vtanθ/sinθin the direction X since an inner guide rail 5 is inclined at an angleθin an accelerating zone. Accordingly, the rear unit B is moved in the direction X at a speed V-Vtanθ/sinθ, and accordingly, the unit A moving ahead is accelerated by Vtanθ/sinθin comparison with the unit B. In the case of deceleration the above-mentioned relation is reversed.
