PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the processing required for a square pipe to a minimum by a method wherein a square pipe on a market is not only used as a body the material cost of which is increased but also processing applied on the square pipe is reduced as much as possible, and especially welding on the square pipe is eliminated. SOLUTION: A base 3 on which a molding work to insert the output shaft of a reduction gear is applied is arranged at the opening end on one side of a reduction gear body l formed of a square pipe having a given length. The base 3 is secured at a mating machine and a cover 2 on which a molding work to hold the end part of an output shaft is arranged at the opening end on the other side of the body 1. The base 3 and the cover 2 are fixed at the opened ends on both sides of the body 1 by means of a through-bolt and the base 3 and the cover 2 are locked at the body 1 by a positioning means.
