PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a contribution to the suppression of the increase in the size of the device by providing the optical axis cover device capable of effectively utilizing the space up to the end on the installation side of a ballast expanding/contracting body as a working space by devising the arrangement of the expanding/contracting body with the optical axis cover device having the ballast expanding/contracting body for the purpose of avoiding a pressure fluctuation by holding the volume in the optical axis cover constant. SOLUTION: The optical axis cover device of a laser beam processing machine is composed of the optical axis cover 8 which shields the laser beam from outside and is disposed expandably and contractably according to the movement of a laser beam, transmission member, such as mirror 12 for transmitting the laser beam, and the expanding/contracting body 9 which communicates with the optical axis cover and is disposed expandably and contractably along the moving direction of the laser beam transmission member. The ballast expanding/ contracting body 9 is disposed on the axial line different from the axial line of the optical axis cover 8. As a result, the end thereof is disposed in the state of partly overlapping on the installation part of the laser beam transmission member and at least a part of the contracted ballast expanding/contracting body 9 is housed in the overlapping part, by which the space is saved. |
