<p>A treatment system for wounds and other disorders is disclosed which includes a flexible chamber (20) secured about the periphery of a wound, optionally including portal means (28, 29) for introduction and removal of treatment fluids from said chamber, control means for treatment variables, and monitoring means (24) for monitoring wound conditions, in combination with a treatment fluid consisting of saline and other optional additives such as antibiotics and anesthetics. A method for treating wounds and other skin disorders is also disclosed, said method comprising the steps of securing a fluid-filled, flexible, conformable chamber (20) about the periphery of the wound so that the chamber surface does not contact the wound, introducing a treatment fluid equivalent to 0.9 % saline, and monitoring wound conditions. Said method optionally comprising a treatment additive, selected according to wound indications, and controlling treatment variables.</p> |
