The present invention discloses benzenedicarboxylic acids diguanidides of formula I (See Formula) wherein R(1) to R(5) have the meanings indicated in claims, are valuable anti-arrhythmic medicaments with a cardioprotective component, also to prevent ischemia-induced lesions, particularly in ischemia-induced heart arrhythmias unchaining, as a consequence of Na+/H+ interchange cellular mechanism inhibition, they are used for acute or chronic lesions treatment ischemia-unchained. Besides, they are characterized in that they have a strong inhibiting effect over cells proliferation. They are adequate to prevent blood hypertension genesis.
