The core cylinder(1) and a flanged metal adaptor(2) of a hollow connecting insulator are connected by press fitting an end section of the core cylinder(1) into the flanged metal adaptor(2). The outer diameter(d2) of the core cylinder(1) is greater than the internal diameter(d3) of a connecting bore(3) in the adaptor(2) at the pre-connection temperature. A synthetic resin is applied either onto the outer surface of the end section of the core cylinder(1) or the inner surface of the connecting bore(3) and after alignment both parts(1,2) are pressed together and bonded by hardening the resin. |
