The elastic bedplate, which is placed between the rail and sleeper of a rail track, has thicker steps on the lateral parts placed under the edges of the rail foot and thinner steps at the centre. There is a continuous variation in thickness. The bedplate has a plane surface. The thickness of the central part (3) is less than two thirds the thickness (4) of the edges. The two lateral steps (1,1') each have a width equal to a tenth of the total width (6). There is a second series of steps (2) whose width is a tenth of the bedplate total width. The thickness of the second steps reduces to a tenth of the total thickness (4) relative to the thickness of the lateral steps.
