<p>Devices and methods in an internal combustion engine with a cooling system (2, 4, 5, 7) and a lubricating system (17, 19, 22) and a control unit (51). A thermal insulated accumulator tank (14) for storing heated coolant communicates via valve means (7, 10) with the coolant pump (2). The accumulator tank is built together with a pressure container (34) for storing heated engine oil. A drain pump (28) transfers all the oil from the oil sump (19) to the pressure container (34) when the engine is shut off, and the lubricating oil passages (22) are drained with the aid of the valves (24, 27). When re-starting, the oil is directed directly into the engine lubricating oil passages (22) via a valve (36) and cold coolant is replaced by warm coolant from the accumulator tank (14) with the aid of the valve (10). The double walled cover of the accumulator tank (14) comprises a high-vacuum zone (53) containing reflecting radiation barriers (74) of aluminum foil with space giving protuberances (75). The engine exhaust pipe (40) has a loop (48) emanating there from, with a controlled valve (47), which extends into the oil sump (19) for preheating the oil by means of the exhaust.</p> |
