System for detecting change of colour in moving coloured material webs (10) such as paper webs or textile webs, comprising: a) one single stabilized light source (20), b) an optical system having an input in the neighbourhood of the light source (20) and a number of outputs (16) positioned with mutual equal distances along a line perpendicular to the direction of movement (12) of the material web (10) by means of which optical system light, emitted by said light source (20), is uniformly divided over a number of outputs (16) which, mutually parallel, each radiate light in the direction of the material web (10), c) a number of light intensity detectors (14), said number corresponding with the number of outputs (16), each detector (14) assigned to one of the outputs (16) and positioned such that each detector (14) receives in essence the light which is emitted by said output (16) and is modulated by the material web (10), d) a processor (22) for measuring and comparing in a predetermined pace the output signals of said detectors (14) to derive information therefrom determining an eventual change of colour in the material web (10). |
