<p>A filter assembly comprises a primary filter and a secondary filter of lower filtering efficiency than the primary filter. The secondary filter is treated with a biocide which serves to prevent or reduce biological contamination of the filter assembly. A preferred embodiment of the filter assembly comprises a copleated assembly of a glass fibre paper (primary filter) and a non-woven polyester matt (secondary filter) treated with a biocide. The filter assembly is particularly useful for use in air conditioning systems.</p> |
