An examination bench for medical, chirurgical and similar purposes, comprises a stand (10) and a lying disc (11) supported thereby. The stand comprises two portions (10A, 10B), viz. a lowermost portion (10A) resting on the floor, and an uppermost portion (10B) supported by said lowermost portion in a manner to permit lifting and lowering thereof, wherein the mechanism is designed in a manner to permit the lying disc to be adjusted into a position with its uppermost surface at a height of from about 450 mm above the floor up to a height of the order of about 1000 mm above the floor. The lowermost portion (10A) of the stand, at one end thereof, is provided with two wheels (13, 14) to permit rolling on the floor, while it has, at the other end thereof, two support feet (15, 16) slightly spaced transversely of the bench, so as to permit setting down the bench on the floor while preventing unallowed movements.
