The invention relates to a closure device for a vehicle tank filler pipe (1) which has an opening (3), provided with a flap (5), for the passage of the filler pipe (4) of a petrol pump nozzle. The flap (5) is biased by a spring (6) against the underside edge of the opening (3) and loadable additionally using actuating means (11) which also controls a multipath valve connecting the filler pipe (1) below the flap (5) to a first recovery pipe (30) leading to the fuel vapour recovery container when the flap (5) is not loaded. In contrast, when the flap (5) is loaded a pressure compensating pipe (25) connected to the fuel tank is connected to a second recovery pipe (24) leading to the recovery container, fitted with a non-return valve and with a smaller cross-section.
