The use of a composition containing at least (a) an aqueous dispersion of filmforming polymeric particles comprising at least one acid function in a free or at least partially neutralised form, and (b) at least one pigment dispersed in the continuous phase of said dispersion, where said pigment is not produced by the oxidative polymerisation of an indole compound, for temporarily dyeing human or animal hair, is disclosed.
