A flashlight comprising an elongate housing (12) having front and back ends (17, 16). Disposed within the housing is a power source (50), while disposed within the front end of the housing is a stand member (20) which is movable between a collapsed position and a deployed position. The stand member is operable to support the housing at a desired angle relative to a generally planar surface when moved to the deployed position and rested upon the surface.
