Fill quantity measuring method in standard container, esp. waste container

The method involves performing an ultrasonic echo measurement with the container in a defined measurement position and deriving the fill quantity using the known container dimensions. A calibration measurement is first performed by acquiring and storing the echo signal with the container empty. To determine the fill quantity in a filled container, the echo signal for the filled container is compared with the stored calibration measurement signals to extract the container related signal, leaving the contents related signal for evaluation.
