A protective device for electrical equipment has a casing (1) with three open sides and a removable plate (2). The rear side of the casing is closed off by the building wall and the plate closes off the bottom. The top is open. The casing has guide rails for the plate to slide in. The sides of the casing extend above and below the plate. The casing, the plate and the rails are all made of insulating plastic. They are dimensioned so that different sizes of plant can be protected, such as circuit-breakers and load isolators.
