In an apparatus for the determination of the partial pressure of ammonia (5) in gases at raised temperatures, using a galvanic measuring cell, a gas-tight or porous ammonium-conducting body (1) is pressed onto the surface of a gas-tight, ion-conducting solid electrolyte body (3) and the electromotive force or cell tension is read off by means of electron-conducting materials (4) over the solid electrolytes arranged in series. The ammonium-conducting body consists of ammonium tantalum-niobate, ammonium tantalum-tungstate, beta" ammonium aluminate and/or beta" - ammonium galliumate.
